It's useful for a film to have a target audience so then a film could make their product more appealing for their targeted audience as those are the people who are going to watch the film and spend money on the film.

Teen dramas could appeal to adults as the films can bring back memories, young children, because they might find the dramas entertaining or inspired in some cases. Teens because they can relate to the teen dramas.
