An example of a sub genre is teen horror, halloween is a teen horror because the film is aimed at teens and it has codes and conventions of a teen movie, also it is a horror film because its quite demonised and has scenes of the living dead killing people.

The sub-genre is a teen/social realism, It is a teen movie because it has elements of a teen movie, It is about what some teenagers get up to in their lives, which teens in the audience can relate to.
